Horizon 2020

Project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the EU Research and Innovation Programme with nearly €77 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). It covers for the first time the whole "innovation chain" starting from basic research and knowledge generation to market uptake.

By coupling research and innovation, Horizon 2020 puts the emphasis on excellent science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges.

The main objectives of this Programme are to:

  • Ensure Europe produces world-class science.
  • Remove barriers to innovation.
  •  Accelerate the development of technologies and innovations.
  • Make it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation.
  • Help innovative European SMEs.
  • Close the gap that currently exists between research and the market.

CTIC, through its European Projects Office, aims to encourage the participation of the Asturian companies in International RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION activities, seizing the opportunities offered by this new Framework Programme.
