Today's business context is highly changing and increasingly complex. Traditional computing and digital infrastructure solutions may be insufficient to address the advanced artificial intelligence and data analytics challenges required by modern businesses.
ALCATRAZ emerges as an opportunity for Asturian companies to access cutting-edge technologies that boost their competitiveness and innovation capacity.
ALCATRAZ investigates how quantum computing can solve highly complex practical problems in Asturian industry, generating tangible and applicable solutions in production processes, optimization and development of new products.
Quantum computing allows working with qubits, which, unlike traditional bits, can represent multiple states simultaneously. This translates into an unprecedented ability to solve complex optimization, classification and simulation problems more efficiently than classical solutions.
CTIC has incorporated quantum computing into its roadmap since 2018. Its achievements include QUTE, the most powerful 38-qubit quantum computer emulator in Spain, which allows companies to experiment with quantum algorithms in a secure and scalable way.
In addition, CTIC coordinates the ARQA Network, recognized by the CDTI as a Cervera Network of technological excellence in quantum computing, facilitating collaboration with the main players in the sector and access to advanced resources.
