The DITEC (DIgital Twin ECosystem: Fostering Autonomous Factories) project aims to research and develop technological solutions based on data quality and new generative AI algorithms for the creation of innovative Digital Twins as key enablers of the autonomous factory and Industry 5.0: Safe and inclusive industrial optimization for people, data and AI models.

Driving the new era of the autonomous factory and Industry 5.0

s DITEC (DIgital Twin ECosystem: Fostering Autonomous Factories) develops anadvanced technological ecosystem for the creation of intelligent industrial Digital Twins, based on data quality and generative artificial intelligence (gAI).

It represents a strategic commitment to the digital and sustainable transformation of industry, driving the evolution towards autonomous, safe, inclusive and highly efficient factories: the core of Industry 5.0.

It offers a unique platform for collaboration and technology transfer, where applied research and industrial validation are integrated to accelerate the adoption of advanced solutions.

This project will enable:

  • Access to cutting-edge technologies in generative AI, Digital Twins, IIoT, Edge-AI and industrial data spaces.
  • Improve the efficiency, traceability and safety of their production processes.
  • Collaborate with leading research centers and companies, sharing knowledge and results in an open innovation environment.
  • Strategically position itself in the evolution towards the autonomous and resilient factory of the future.
Strategic objectives

DITEC articulates its development around the following of key technology objectives:

  1. Advanced Industrial Digital Twins based on enabling technologies such as IoT, Edge-AI, generative AI and secure and interoperable data spaces.
  2. Comprehensive management of industrial data, ensuring its quality, traceability and integrity for decision making throughout the Digital Twin lifecycle.
  3. Reinforcement of industrial cybersecurity, protecting both data and AI models against threats in autonomous manufacturing environments.
  4. Knowledge transfer between AI models, driving generalization and the creation of shared industrial data ecosystems.
  5. Application of generative AI to improve model training, generate synthetic data and optimize processes in dynamic environments.
  6. Evolution towards interactive and explainable Digital Twins, integrating worker experience and facilitating collaborative decision making.

The role of CTIC

Within DITEC, CTIC leads the development of the "Ecosystem of Digital Twins in Data Space", whose objective is to apply the principles of sovereignty, interoperability and secure data sharing to the industrial environment.

In addition, CTIC is actively involved in key areas such as:

  • IoT and IIoT (integration of sensors and intelligent systems)
  • Generative IA, machine learning and model explainability
  • Industrial cybersecurity and protection of AI models

As part of the project, a industrial security-oriented use case will be developed, supported by a MVDS (Minimum Viable Data Space) that will demonstrate the applicability and scalability of the results obtained.
