FORTESIE: CBDC-based smart performance contracts for efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use
Arquitecturas descentralizadas
The construction sector has an enormous impact on resource consumption: it accounts for 50% of the materials extracted, 30% of the water consumed, 40% of the energy used and 36% of the CO₂ emissions. Aware of this, the European Commission has promoted the Renovation Wave (Renovation Wave), whose objective is to double the rate of building renovation by 2030.
In this context, FORTESIE offers a strategic opportunity for companies in the sector to be at the forefront of sustainable transformation. The project aims to design, validate and replicate innovative renovation packages, which integrate smart, performance-based materials, technologies and financing models. These packages combine:
Within FORTESIE, CTIC is leading the development of a blockchain-based architecture and an energy efficiency assessment and certification service. It is also coordinating the pilot in Spain, in collaboration with key entities in the construction and energy sectors. This pilot is part of the 7 European demonstrators that will evaluate technological efficiency and validate new business models in real environments.
Participating in FORTESIE gives companies a clear competitive advantage: access to cutting-edge solutions, strategic alliances and the possibility of positioning themselves as leading players in the sustainable and digital renovation of the European building stock.
