The design and development of user interfaces tailored to the specific needs of a particular user group or applied for as many users as possible requires the use of techniques, methodologies and specific strategies during the design and implementation stages of that interface. This capability, combined with the interaction Technologies, aims to study, develop and apply methodologies and standards for both the design and the evaluation of user interfaces.

CTIC has experience in the use of methodologies for user-centered design, participatory design techniques for end users, engineering techniques and methodologies for assessing emotional experience user. This experience has been applied in areas such as digital home or eHealth, in which heterogeneous groups of users with different skills used different interaction channels such as television, voice or touch systems.
