Guillermo Canovas is Director of the Internet Safety Centre for Spain of the Safer Internet Programme of the European Commission. He is President of PROTEGELES, an organization that aims at making the internet a safer place for children. PROTEGELES is the only Spanish member of INHOPE (International Association of Internet Hotlines), of INSAFE (European network of Awareness Centres) and of eNACSO (European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online).
Founder of Action Against Child Pornography-ACPI-, and responsible for the last three years of the legal and psychological team at the Intervention Centre against Child Sexual Abuse-CIASI-of the Community of Madrid. Teacher and writer, author of several books including "Thieves of Innocence," "The Other Side of Porn" and others, and numerous studies on the habits of children in the use of ICT, internet, mobile technologies and digital entertainment.
