Natalia Basterrechea is head of Policy at Facebook Spain. Among her responsibilities are included the areas of privacy, security, regulatory issues affecting the Internet sector and the relationship with various governments and public agencies.

Natalia has an extensive career and great experience, focused on providing advice to start up companies. She has participated in the launch of different telecommunications businesses, specifically mobile operators and new Internet business.

Prior to joining Facebook, she worked in various companies, including Network SL vLex (as Legal Advisor); FON Wireless Ltd (Legal Advisor and Head of Regulatory Affairs), GSM Association (Public Policy Director) and Hutchison3G in the UK (Responsible for Interconnection and Regulatory Issues) and legal advisor to Vodafone Spain (Airtel).

Natalia is a qualified Lawyer by the University of Deusto with an LL.M. in International Business and Competition Law from the Amsterdam School of International Relations.
