Ricard Martínez

 

Ricard Martínez Martínez  is the President of the Spanish Professional Association for Privacy. He is Doctor of Law from the University of Valencia. He has dedicated his research to study the fundamental right to data protection and other issues related with the impact of information and communication technologies in privacy.

He has written several monographs on this subject, – “Information Technology, Police and Constitution”, “A critical approach to informative self-determination”. He has participated as author or coordinator in various comments to regulation of the development of the Organic Law on Data Protection. He has recently published, as coordinator, a monograph entitled as Law and Social Nnetworks.

Professionally, he collaborates with various universities as a teacher (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), University of Valencia, Universidad Carlos III, UOC, Universidad de Murcia, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia). He has responsibilities as Data Protection Officer at the University of Valencia and he is responsible for the Studies Area of the Spanish Agency of Data Protection.
