The 4U line looks for the universal access to information, regardless of factors, such as the type of software, language or users skills. In general, accessibility and usability must be understood as indicators of how easily something can be used or accessed by all persons, including those with special needs (for example, due to age or disability).
Technical advances and new Information and Communication Technologies applications should not become a set of new barriers, but a resource that provides development and easy solutions for society.
Integrated within multi-disciplinary working groups and having the support of target groups such as people with special needs, this R&D and Innovation area of the CTIC Foundation is working on the conception and design of technological solutions to promote the elimination of barriers, thus contributing to the basic principles of the “Design for all” and “Inclusion”.
