Since 2005, the Municipality of Gijón implements the so-called COMPYTE initiative that, with the support of different organizations and regional business associations, aims to detect SMEs needs and to adapt policies in order to improve the competitiveness and the development of local companies.

Technological Advising Service:

This service, managed by CTIC Foundation, allows SMEs of Gijón to make a request of technical assistance for the application of Information and Communication Technologies in their business.

Objective:

The aim of this service, which does not involve any obligation or cost for the company, is to analyze and procure the implementation of technological solutions suitable for the companies’ success, in areas such as:

• The marketing and sale of products through the Internet (virtual shops, e-commerce). 
• Business management and internal communication (local net and Intranet). 
• Innovative management of human resources (e-learning and on-line recruitment) 
• Contacts with customers or suppliers through the Internet tools.
• Production processes. 
• Communication systems (mobile telephones, satellite connection, etc.). 
• Positioning and presence in the Internet. 
• Legal aspects related to ICT (data protection, e-commerce)
• Others.
