TICPYME
The TICPYME project aims to implement information and communication advanced services in regions
far away from the traditional development centres (rural and peripheral regions) in order to make
up for the lack of supply and to promote cooperation. In Asturias, these advanced services are
focused on the rural tourism sector.
General objectives:
- To develop a supply of ICT services that can be of great added value in peripheral
regions.
- To raise awareness among peripheral regions businesspersons on the importance of ICT for being
competitive.
- To improve the match of supply and demand of ICT services, especially when there is a long
geographical distance between them.
- To promote a basic tool so that participating regions can overcome the barriers associated to
their double isolation (in relation to their own country competitiveness and to that of Europe and
the rest of the world).
- To promote cooperation as a basic element to face market competitiveness dynamics.
- To boost and strengthen the implementation of business projects from southwest regions, thus
contributing to business strengthening in these regions and improving employment and
wealth.
- To eliminate structural barriers between city centres and rural and peripheral regions.
