SI-Local

SI-Loc@l is a European project, within the EQUAL initiative, co-financed by the European Union and the Regional Ministry for Education and Science of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, designed to support the adaptability of companies and employees in the framework of Information and Communication Technologies.

SI-Loc@l develops a set of actions aiming to promote the implementation and development of the Information Society in Asturias. It addresses human resources, as well as companies and social agents and mediators, in order to complement existing global policies, contributing to the development of the Information Society in the region.

Aims and strategic lines:

• Research and analysis of both, the level of innovation and ICT use and implementation in Asturian SMEs, and the level of use, knowledge and ICT competences of workers in the region.
  
• Development of a global digital literacy strategy, by means of traditional and on-line training and with the support of the Asturian Telecentre net.
  
• Organisation of practical training courses and seminars about Internet and the new global economy, addressed to technological and advisory companies, working in the development of technological solutions.
  
• Development and commissioning of an on-line labour guidance and counselling service.
  
• Dissemination of the Information Society and promotion of the ICT among Asturian SMEs and workers.
  
  
  • Mobile Technological Demonstration Service, which offers multimedia workshops and carries out demonstration activities, by means of leading-edge technology and satellite access to Internet. This activity has had a great impact in the territory due to its high demonstrative effect, as having access to connection and equipment is a very important factor in rural and isolated areas.
    
  • Dissemination seminars and conferences about the benefits of the Information Society and the Information and Communication Technologies, which aim to familiarize SMEs with these technologies and the new ways of working.
    
• Offering technological consultancy about new on-line business strategies and commercialization solutions, new ways of business management and internal communication proceedings, among others.
