The project brought to Central America strategies for supporting the tourism sector that had worked in the socioeconomic conversion of Asturias' production model, where ICT play a significant role in business competitiveness and in tourism marketing.
The project's objectives were:
- Provide training for the adoption of a strategic public-private collaboration model that would step up the use of ICT in El Salvador's tourism sector.
- Establish a stable and sustainable networking methodology among the business support structures of the tourism sector (the MSE Development Centers and the Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism).
- Ensure the transfer of the cooperation action at the institutional, governmental, and citizen levels.
The project was conceived as a comprehensive and scalable intervention model, with micro-scale actions in the participating municipalities that would also serve as a means of elevating the strategies developed into national-level policies.
CTIC carried out the project with funding from the Agencia Asturiana de Cooperación al Desarrollo.
