CTIC hosts the W3C Hispano Office (World Wide Web Consortium for Spanish-speaking countries), being one of the few W3C offices distributed around the world.
The W3C is the international organization responsible for developing open standards that ensure the growth of the Web, making sure it remains universal, accessible, and interoperable. Through its work, the W3C drives innovation and promotes a more inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem.
Our mission as the W3C Office in Spain is:
- To spread the mission, activities, and recommendations of the W3C within the Spanish-speaking community.
- To promote the adoption of web standards among businesses, public administrations, and research centers.
- To connect the local community with the global work of the W3C, facilitating participation in working groups and international forums.
- To organize events and activities that bring the evolution of the Web closer to all sectors.
Spain’s participation in the W3C ecosystem is strategic to ensure that the evolution of the Web also meets the needs of our business, academic, and social environment. At CTIC, we work to make sure the voice of the Spanish-speaking community is represented in decisions about the future of the Web.
