DEIS3A.Coop: Comprehensive and sustainable business development in the agri-cooperative sector

DEIS3A.Coop addressed, from a comprehensive and strategic perspective, the entry of young people and newcomers, with special attention to women, into the Asturian agri-food sector, as a way to ensure generational renewal and the development of rural areas.

The objectives of the project were:

• To enhance the role of women and young people in agri-food activity as guarantors of generational renewal and of the socioeconomic growth of Asturian rural areas and social economy organizations.
• To provide the technical, economic, and agronomic knowledge needed to manage agri-food activity professionally.
• To raise awareness among farmers, livestock producers, and social economy organizations about the sustainability of production systems, respect for the environment, precision agriculture, and food quality and safety.
• To foster positive attitudes toward new technologies, supporting the digital transformation of the sector and the incorporation of innovation into business models.

The areas on which DEIS3A.Coop was built were:

• Awareness and enhancement: highlighting the role of women and young people in the generational renewal of the agri-food sector.
• Specialized training: transmission of technical, economic, and agronomic knowledge for professional management of the activity.
• Advice and accompaniment: guidance on sustainability, precision agriculture, and food quality and safety, with a focus on the market and consumer needs.
• Digital transformation: accompaniment in adopting new technologies and modernizing the business model.

CTIC's participation centered on the transfer of knowledge in digital transformation and precision agriculture, aimed at young professionals in the agri-food sector.
