EPSI Platform is a meeting point that gives citizens of all Member States access to information on the reuse of public sector information (PSI) and promotes its use. It is a European Commission (DG CONNECT) initiative managed by CTIC, combining blog posts, news, and events with in-depth reports on issues relevant to the reuse of public sector information.

EPSI Platform addressed the European Commission's need for a single space in which to keep up to date with developments and legal issues surrounding the reuse of public sector information across the European Union.

The objectives of the project were:

  • To create a renewed version of the existing platform, with more diverse, dynamic, accurate, and up-to-date information, and with better tools for its use and for publishing news, best practices, legislation, legal cases, and examples of public sector information reuse products and services.
  • To engage stakeholders in a dynamic community that would draw on the commitment of various multiplier agents, organizations, and action groups to create a pan-European network in this field.
  • To provide top-level advisory services, with analyses, recommendations, and reports on developments and best practices, including comparative tables by Member State.
  • To design, develop, and implement an awareness-raising strategy that would attract new stakeholders to the field and to the platform itself.

EPSI Platform was built around the following pillars:

  • Reference platform: a single portal for consulting the latest European developments in the reuse of public sector information and their legal implications.
  • Community of practice: active involvement of leading experts on the subject from the then 28 Member States as part of an advisory board, through online activities (webinars) and in-person activities (meetings, public presentations, and a European tour that culminated in the PSI Re-use Awards).
  • Advice and awareness-raising: high-level reports and recommendations for the public sector information reuse community, combined with an outreach strategy aimed at new stakeholders.

CTIC managed the EPSI platform, with a 38% share of the project budget.
