The project responded to the need to break down the barriers that keep Caribbean SMEs from accessing the information society, equipping their advisors with the criteria and knowledge needed to support them in their digitalization.
The project's objectives were:
- Provide strategies, arguments, and tools to overcome the barriers that keep SMEs from accessing the information society.
- Equip ICT advisors with the criteria needed to assess SMEs' level of digitalization and support them in adopting ICT.
- Instill values of technological neutrality, with clear explanations and no unnecessary jargon.
By the end of the training, the ICT advisors were able to design awareness-raising actions aimed at technology SMEs, identifying and addressing the main difficulties of this type of intervention. The program was aimed at advisors from Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Haiti.
CTIC carried out the project for the Organization of American States (OAS).
