Make Learn Share Europe (MLSEurope) promoted the training of a network of ICT ambassadors, young people aged 14 to 18, in apps, robotics, and 3D printing, so that they could pass this knowledge on to other groups in society, such as children, older people, and groups at risk of exclusion. The project took place in Sheffield, Riga, Ronneby, Rome, and Gijón, with the participation of city councils, technology centers, and specialized organizations from each territory.

MLSEurope proposed an alternative approach to training in information and communication technologies, based on training young ambassadors who can spark their peers' interest in fields with high future employment potential, such as app development, robotics, and 3D printing.

The objectives of the project were:

  • To train young people aged 14 to 18 as ICT ambassadors, with specialized training in apps, robotics, and 3D printers.
  • To promote the transfer of the knowledge acquired to other groups in society, such as children, older people, or groups at risk of exclusion.
  • To foster collaboration among city councils, companies, and technology centers from different European countries in the field of youth digital skills training.

CTIC's activities in the project focused on:

  • Open Learning Units: developing teaching materials and methodologies to facilitate the transfer of the project's content.
  • Training of young participants: direct training of the young ICT ambassadors of the project.

CTIC took part in MLSEurope as part of an international consortium coordinated by the Sheffield City Council (United Kingdom), together with the city councils of Riga, Ronneby, and Gijón, and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale of Rome.
