NUBIA: Smart platform for optimizing field services through mobile technologies

NUBIA's purpose was to create a comprehensive, smart system for optimizing field service activities, based on mobile technologies and focused especially on SMEs, in order to improve companies' productivity, reduce their associated costs, and increase the quality of service offered to customers.

The project's objectives were:

• To facilitate advanced work scheduling, task assignment, and the editing of dynamic forms.
• To optimize data management in partially connected architectures to improve the immediate availability of information, even in areas with limited or no connectivity.
• To create components for advanced data visualization that would support decision-making.
• To reduce the time it takes to notify employees.
• To research and develop components for the integration, analysis, and efficient processing of information.

The core areas of NUBIA were:

• Management of large volumes of information: handling of high-frequency location data and message histories.
• Interoperability between platforms: management of different programming languages and heterogeneous notification processes, in a context of constant technological change.
• System scalability: a design aimed at supporting a large number of users without loss of performance or of immediate information availability.

CTIC developed NUBIA, a platform for optimizing field services through mobile technologies, taking charge of the research and development of its components for calendar and task management, data visualization, and information integration and analysis.
