OTEA: Competitive intelligence and technology watch observatory for business groupings in the metal sector

The partners in the OTEA project developed a new business model based on a previous CTIC technology watch tool, consisting of a competitive intelligence observatory for groups of companies belonging to associations and other types of groupings, such as clusters and innovative business groupings.

The validation of that model and of the technological tool was initially carried out with FEMETAL companies, a facilitating entity participating in the project. In this way, the product generated in the project formed the basis of an Economic and Technological Observatory of the Metal Sector, focused on areas related to the Industry 4.0 paradigm.

OTEA thus became a key tool for implementing an observatory geared toward innovation and competitiveness, by systematizing the procedure for gathering, filtering and validating information useful to companies.
