Red de Telecentros de Asturias: Promotion and management of the Telecenter Network of the Principality of Asturias

The telecenters met the need to guarantee access to ICT for the entire population and to support people in their learning. A team of almost a hundred CTIC staff worked in them, delivering group training, providing one-on-one assistance to visitors, and supporting users throughout their learning process.

The project was structured around the following areas:

• Network definition and deployment: launch of the 85 telecenters spread across the territory.
• Management and evaluation: design and implementation of management, monitoring, and evaluation procedures.
• Community outreach: outreach strategy and action plan.
• Human resources: human resources plan for the telecenter team.

CTIC managed the network until the end of 2007, when the telecenters were transferred to the municipalities, changed their strategic focus, and were renamed Local Technology Promotion Centers.
