SHARE-PSI 2.0 was a European Commission thematic network that brought together a critical mass of government agencies and organizations responsible for implementing the Public Sector Information (PSI) Reuse Directive, with the aim of identifying best practices and harmonizing their application across Europe.

The revision of the PSI Directive posed the challenge for Member States of applying it in a harmonized way despite their different administrative frameworks and levels of maturity in data openness. SHARE-PSI 2.0 met this need through the structured exchange of experiences among government agencies.

The objectives of the project were:

  • To identify best practices in the implementation of the PSI Directive.
  • To harmonize the application of the Directive across the different Member States.
  • To define a concrete, agreed-upon approach for applying it to public data.

SHARE-PSI 2.0 was built around the following pillars:

  • Network of government agencies: grouping of bodies responsible for implementing the PSI Directive in different European countries.
  • Thematic workshops: a series of meetings on different aspects of the Directive's implementation, with the participation of partner entities.
  • Case studies: a collection of public sector information reuse experiences, both successful and unsuccessful, contributed by the network's partners.

CTIC took part in the consortium of this European thematic network, contributing its experience in open data and the reuse of public sector information.
