ShareResearchData (SRD): Platform for publishing and exchanging scientific data under the Open Access philosophy
Generación y adquisición de datos
In those years, the Open Access philosophy focused mainly on the open publication of scientific articles, theses, and technical reports, leaving experimental data and the models used in research in the background, despite their value to both the scientific community and third parties interested in reusing them.
SRD proposed extending that philosophy to research data, making it easier for scientists and researchers to publish and reuse their data, thereby accelerating research, reducing duplication of effort, and increasing the impact of the results obtained.
To this end, tools were developed capable of transforming data from their original formats (databases, tables, among others) into a common format that would allow their publication, exchange, enrichment, and querying in a shared catalog, preserving the authorship of each work and making it possible to create a validated community of research groups that could share and improve their results jointly.
