Director of planning and corporate development
Computer Engineer from the University of Oviedo, with more than 25 years of professional experience in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. Her professional career has always been marked by a firm commitment to the digital transformation of the business and institutional fabric.
After 3 years as an analyst in a technology company, he joined the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Oviedo in 2000, where he collaborated in the development of methodologies and tools for monitoring, advice and business promotion in various fields (business creation, foreign trade and technological development, among others).
Four years later, he joined the recently constituted CTIC Technology Centre, as Head of the Digital Enterprise Area, from where he will lead numerous projects related to the digital transformation of SMEs and society in general, through initiatives as relevant as the Network of SAT Centres, the Programme for the Innovation of the Self-Employed (PIATIC), the Programme for the Digitalisation of Commerce in Asturias (DICA) or the Strategies for the Development of the Information Society in Asturias e-Asturias 2008 and 2012, among others, contributing to the economic, social and technological development of Asturias. During this period, she also participated in various international transfer projects for Central America, Angola and Romania, among others.
She currently holds the position of Director of Planning and Corporate Development at CTIC, focusing her efforts on communication processes, project portfolio management, corporate intelligence systems and development of strategic alliances to promote the growth and positioning of the organisation.
Director of data economy
Chus García combines the Data Economics Directorate at CTIC with the Coordination of the Host Chapter for Spain and Spanish-speaking American countries of the W3C Web Consortium.
He has more than 25 years of experience in analysis and management of projects related to standardisation applied to the Web in the fields of accessibility, user experience, data publication on the Web as well as the creation of tools for automatic verification of compliance with standards.
In the field of standardisation, W3C has participated in several working groups in the fields of accessibility, the Web of Things and, more recently, in the application of machine learning on the Web.
In recent years he has expanded his areas of activity to the management of projects related to the data value chain, open data publishing and data spaces.
Director of organisational and social innovation
With a degree in Art History from the University of Oviedo, she has complemented her training in psychological intervention in emergencies, project evaluation, NGO management and business management.
She began her professional career combining her work as an aid worker and coordinator of peace projects in Kosovo with UNHCR and KFOR with her research activity as a specialist in Asturian pre-Romanesque art.
In 2007, she joined CTIC as a cooperation technician and developed her internal career playing different roles in digital transformation, industry 4.0 leading the specialisation line of Active Ageing and Wellbeing, which has allowed her to lead projects of human development, digital transformation and social welfare and she has a wide experience in issues of promotion of ethics and responsibility in the use of technology.
In 2019 she took up the position of Director General for Planning, Organisation and Adaptation to Social Change in the Government of the Principality of Asturias, coordinating the response to COVID-19 in the Asturian Social Services System and designing the digital transformation strategy for Asturian social services.
In 2022 she rejoined CTIC and is currently the Director of Organisational and Social Innovation at CTIC Technology Centre.
Director of R&D
Fidel Díez holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of León with a thesis entitled "Performance evaluation of univariate, multivariate and machine learning methodologies in the analysis of genomic variations", postgraduate degree in Project Management and Technical Engineer in Computer Science from the University of Oviedo.
With more than 18 years of experience in the world of R&D&I, innovation management, coordination of proposals and R&D&I projects, financing of R&D&I activities, and technology transfer, both from the university and technology companies or specialised consultancies for any type of sector.
In 2014 he joined CTIC Technology Centre as head of the Technology Line and in 2020 he became the R&D Director of the Technology Centre, participating in the redesign of its technological specialisation roadmap. Since then, he has participated in more than 30 multisectoral projects at regional, national and international level and has participated in several international conferences and scientific publications.
General Manager
Pablo Coca holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oviedo (2000). He has a postgraduate degree in Project Management (2008) and specific training in Strategic Innovation from ESADE (2020).
With more than 23 years of experience in business environments of innovation management and R&D project management, he has developed his activity in various sectors such as steel, aeronautics, metal-mechanics, energy and ICT.
In 2014 he joined CTIC Foundation, a Technology Centre specialised in data technologies and Artificial Intelligence, as Director of the Business Development Division.
Since 2024 he is the General Manager of the Centre.
Deputy CEO
With an outstanding background in Economics, specialising in Accounting and Account Auditing, completed with an Executive Master's Degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Oviedo, Marta Tamargo began her professional career in 1991. Her career began in the field of financial auditing and business consultancy at the Asturian firm Velasco y Pedregal Auditores and in 1994 she took up the position of Administrative, Financial and HR Director of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Oviedo. Her professional journey led her in 2004 to a leading position in CTIC Centro Tecnológico as Director of Administration, Accounting and People, subsequently taking on the General Services, Systems and DevOps Areas, which make up the Corporate Development Division of CTIC.
Since 2005, she has been Secretary of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee, broadening her experience in corporate governance and management of non-profit organisations.
She has participated in numerous projects and initiatives for the definition of corporate strategies, the implementation of R&D&I projects at national and international level and the formation of national and international consortia and foundations. Her career reflects the profile of a professional with a deep commitment to excellence in the management of "companies with purpose", with a natural interest in the analysis and management of knowledge-based organisations and with "people at the centre".
Currently, since January 2024, she is the Deputy CEO of CTIC.
D. Roberto Paraja Tuero
President
Qualification: Mining Engineer specialising in Energy Techniques.
Professionally linked to Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, S.A. since the beginning of his professional career in 1972, when he joined the Gas Department. He designed and coordinated the Master Plan for the relaunch of the piped gas distribution business, which included the elimination of the city gas production plants and the transformation of the natural gas distribution networks, a process which culminated in the creation of Gas de Asturias, S.A., which he joined as Technical and Planning Director.
In 1992 he joined the company Aguas y Servicios de Asturias, S.A. as Managing Director, and in 1994 he began studies of opportunities for positioning in the telecommunications sector, as part of the diversification policy of Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico. These studies led to the incorporation of Sociedad Promotora de las Telecomunicaciones en Asturias, S.A., in December 1994, and TeleCable de Oviedo, S.A., TeleCable de Gijón, S.A., and TeleCable de Avilés, S.A., in March 1995.
Appointed General Manager of Sociedad Promotora de la Telecomunicaciones en Asturias from its foundation in 1994, he became its Chairman in May 1997.
After the merger in 2002 of the three TeleCable companies into Telecable de Asturias, S.A.U., he was appointed Sole Administrator of this company and became its Chairman in 2007.
He took part in the incorporation process of RETECAL, a company of which he was a director, as well as TELEVISIÓN CASTILLA Y LEÓN S.A.
In 2009, he stepped down as Chairman of Sociedad Promotora de las Telecomunicaciones en Asturias, S.A., and TeleCable de Asturias, S.A.U., and was appointed Honorary Chairman.
He continues to be linked to the TeleCable project, carrying out advisory tasks and representing the company in different forums and organisations.
